Phoenix: Box Canyon Tour
This tour starts in the extreme northeast corner of Florence, Arizona. Florence is about halfway between Tucson & Phoenix on SR 79. Driving time from either city is approximately 1 hour.
Our trail is about 40 miles in length and about 3.25 hours in duration. Elevation gain and decent is over 1700 vertical feet as we climb up and over the front range of the Pinal Mountains. Along the tour your guide will point out Indian pictographs left over from the ancient Native Americans.
Another point of interest is an old adobe building that served as a way station for the Butterfield Overland Stage Coach Company during the 1860's. For a short time this also serviced the Pony Express on what was know as the "Butterfield Route".
The real highlight of the tour is Box Canyon. You'll be in the canyon for about six miles. The middle 3 miles is slot canyon with walls only about 10-20 fee apart that are about 900 feet high on both sides. The scenery is incredible! Please view our video and slide show.
Tours leave at 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM daily

3 Hour Tour Pricing: $119 per ATV plus tax
Departure times 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM
The passenger on any ATV is free!
